The BMW 330e iPerformance is a plug-in hybrid unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt in September 2015. The first units were registered in Europe by late 2015 and North American sales began in 2016.

(Mazda 6)The Mazda6 won the ‘Best Mid-size Car (over $28,000)’ title in Australia’s Best Cars in 2002 and 2003. It came second in 2004, behind the Subaru Liberty, and fifth in 2005 (the Honda Accord Euro was first in 2005). Wheels magazine also awarded the Mazda6 winner of its Active Safety Program in July 2005. In December 2007 in Australia the Mazda6 won the Carsales Peoples Choice award for its class. The hatchback’s liftback/notchback styling was considered a clever design to disguise it as a four-door saloon, as North Americans generally considered trunks more elegant than hatches. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a line of compact executive cars produced by Daimler AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque’s line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997. (Porsche 959)Group B / Paris?Dakar Rally
The 959 was originally meant for Group B racing but development time took longer than expected. The first development race cars, essentially modified 911 Carrera models with all-wheel-drive system known internally as the 953, were entered in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, finishing 1st (Ren? Metge), 6th (Jacky Ickx) and 25th. These cars tested the all-wheel-drive system to be used in the 959. Unlike the World Rally Championship the Dakar didn’t require a minimum number of cars built for homologation. In 1985, three cars were entered in the Dakar rally with the proposed 959 body and the rest of the systems but they still used the engine of the 953 rally cars. These cars didn’t finish (only one due to mechnical failure however). Afterwards Porsche fitted the cars with twin-turbochargers. Two cars started at the Rallye des Pharaons in October 1985. One of them caught fire, while Saeed Al-Hajri and John Spiller achieved a commanding victory with their 959. At the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally the 959 finished 1st (Ren? Metge), 2nd (Jacky Ickx) and 6th.

The Mercedes-Benz X-Class is a luxury pickup truck sold by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, a division of German company Daimler AG. Unveiled at a world premiere in Cape Town in July 2017, the new Mercedes-Benz pickup takes its chassis from the Nissan Navara and employs many Mercedes-specific features and technologies (including some engines not shared with the Navara). It went on sale in early 2017.

Development
In 2015, Mercedes-Benz announced that development of a pick-up truck was in the works. The Mercedes-Benz X-Class entered production in late-2017. The new vehicle, developed in conjunction with the Nissan-Renault Alliance, will be assembled at Nissan and Renault plants in Europe and South America.

On October 25, 2016, Mercedes-Benz announced a concept class called the X-Class Concept. According to Mercedes, the new X-Class will be the world’s first true “premium” pick-up truck. Dieter Zetsche, Daimler Chairman and head of Mercedes-Benz cars, said it would help a growing segment. It is slated to be only available in Australia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. South Africans in particular are very optimistic about the Mercedes X-Class; as pick-up trucks are extremely popular there. (Mitsubishi Outlander)The Outlander PHEV features regenerative braking during normal deceleration (braking or coasting), with the front and rear electric motors working as generators so that electricity can be generated and fed back into the main battery pack. In addition, the plug-in hybrid has a set-up that allows the driver to control the strength of the engine braking with paddles behind the steering wheel. The driver switches on regenerative braking either by sliding the central selector to the “B” position, or by operating the paddles.

Variable regenerative braking is achieved by tapping the paddles, the strength of the regenerative braking system could be stepped through six different settings?B0 to B5?allowing the driver to adjust how much power is restored into the battery, and to balance the amount of braking carried out with the amount of momentum the driver wants to maintain. For example, down a long but shallow slope it is better to keep rolling with a small level of recuperation, while down a steep hill, the driver can set the system to maximum regeneration. At its most aggressive setting, the regen system would easily hold the Outlander at 80 km/h (50 mph) down a moderate downhill slope.
