While based on the production engine, the Evoluzione engine was blueprinted for greater performance and generated approximately 368 kW (500 PS; 493 hp). The transmission was modified with a short throw shifter but was otherwise the same as the production version. The Lamborghini made pole position, but was moved to the end of the grid due to some technical irregularities.
