Audi

In the mid-to-late 1990s, Audi introduced new technologies including the use of aluminium construction. Produced from 1999 to 2005, the Audi A2 was a futuristic super mini, born from the Al2 concept, with many features that helped regain consumer confidence, like the aluminium space frame, which was a first in production car design. In the A2 Audi further expanded their TDI technology through the use of frugal three-cylinder engines. The A2 was extremely aerodynamic and was designed around a wind tunnel. The Audi A2 was criticised for its high price and was never really a sales success but it planted Audi as a cutting-edge manufacturer. The model, a Mercedes-Benz A-Class competitor, sold relatively well in Europe. However, the A2 was discontinued in 2005 and Audi decided not to develop an immediate replacement.

The next major model change came in 1995 when the Audi A4 replaced the Audi 80. The new nomenclature scheme was applied to the Audi 100 to become the Audi A6 (with a minor facelift). This also meant the S4 became the S6 and a new S4 was introduced in the A4 body. The S2 was discontinued. The Audi Cabriolet continued on (based on the Audi 80 platform) until 1999, gaining the engine upgrades along the way. A new A3 hatchback model (sharing the Volkswagen Golf Mk4’s platform) was introduced to the range in 1996, and the radical Audi TT coup? and roadster were debuted in 1998 based on the same underpinnings.

The engines available throughout the range were now a 1.4 L, 1.6 L and 1.8 L four-cylinder, 1.8 L four-cylinder turbo, 2.6 L and 2.8 L V6, 2.2 L turbo-charged five-cylinder and the 4.2 L V8 engine. The V6s were replaced by new 2.4 L and 2.8 L 30V V6s in 1998, with marked improvement in power, torque and smoothness. For international markets, a wider version of the E140 was sold with different styling, with the ASEAN and Taiwanese markets retaining the Corolla Altis branding. BMW M5

Chassis
The E39 M5 uses aluminium-intensive MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, as per the other V8 models of the E39 5 Series range. However, several changes were made by BMW M. Reduced spring height, 23 mm (0.9 in) lower. A specific shock valving, thicker front and rear anti-roll bars, polyurethane auxiliary springs, and steel balljoints.

Although the six-cylinder E39 models use rack-and-pinion steering, the M5 (and other V8 models) retains the recirculating ball steering system, as used by previous generations of the M5. A quicker steering ratio of 14.7 was used, compared with 17.9 for other V8 models. It featured a Servotronic vehicle-speed-sensitive power assist which provides two levels of resistance controlled via console mounted Sport button. The Sport button also adjusted the electronic throttle butterflies for more sensitive response.

Brake discs (rotors) are a “floating” two-piece design (except for U.S and Canada models), for reduced risk of cone distortion. Their lower unsprung weight improves ride quality and traction on bumpy surfaces as well. (Porsche 991)The final production version of the Speedster was unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show in April and dropped the “Talbot” wing mirrors in favour of standard 991 wing mirrors and announced to be available for sale in May 2019. The engine adopted from the GT3 is equipped with individual throttle bodies and a new fuel injection system and develops 510 PS (375 kW; 503 hp) at 8,400 rpm and 470 N?m (347 lb?ft) at 6,250 rpm. The exhaust system is claimed to be 10 kg (22 lb) lighter despite the addition of two petrol particle filters. The car is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes (PCCB) as standard, a Heritage Design Package is available as option.

The Speedster was also the final edition of the 991, with only 1,948 units produced. Production of the 991 generation ended on December 20, 2019 and the final 991 model was a 991 Speedster. On November 18, 2010, Ford reduced their stake further to just 3%, citing the reduction of ownership would allow greater flexibility to pursue growth in emerging markets. (Mitsubishi Evo)The Lancer Evolution VIII was also the first Evolution to be sold in the United States of America, spurred by the success of the Subaru Impreza WRX which had been released there just the year prior. BMW 5 Series E12

At the 1970 Geneva Motor Show, BMW unveiled the 2200ti Garmisch concept car, a 2-door saloon which was developed in conjunction with Bertone. Although the 2200ti Garmisch concept car was shown as a potential replacement for the New Class saloons, the eventual E12 production model utilized many design elements from the Garmisch.

Development of the E12-series had begun by the end of the 1960s, when wind tunnel tests were conducted. In December 2011, Ferrari announced a special edition of the 599 GTB to celebrate 60 years of their wins in F1. From Froil?n Gonz?lez’s win at Silverstone in 1951 with the 375 F1, to Fernando Alonso’s win at Silverstone in 2011 in the 150? Italia, Ferrari have been winning hundreds of F1 races. The car was based on the 599 HGTE chassis, that utilised stiff suspension, shorter springs and stiffer anti-roll bars. The new 20″ diamond-finished forged alloy wheels and Scuderia Ferrari shields came on the body as standard. There were three choices of paint finishes to choose from:

(Porsche Cayenne)The second-generation Cayenne (Type 92A) was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March following an online reveal. The Cayenne shares its platform, body frame, doors and electronics with the similar Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7. The second generation received a facelift in 2014 with minor external changes, and introduced a new plug-in E-Hybrid version, with its public launch at the Paris Motor Show. Mercedes S Class S-Guard

A special armored version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been produced, known as the S-Guard. Features include the capability to withstand small arms fire and certain explosive devices, a self-sealing fuel tank, and an alarm system. For 2009, Mercedes-Benz launched a long-wheelbase version of the S-Guard, known as the Pullman Guard. This model is 45 cm (18 in) longer than the standard model and also has a higher roof and taller rear window with a different rake.

The S-Guard is widely used at the diplomatic level to protect world leaders. Ninety governments worldwide are known to use the S-Guard for transport of government leaders and dignitaries. (Pagani Huayra)Introduced in June 2019 on the CSR Racing 2 app, the Huayra BC Roadster is an open top variant of the Huarya BC. It shares the same aerodynamic parts as present on the BC but has a more powerful 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine rated at 800 PS (588 kW; 789 hp) and 1,001 N?m (738 lb?ft) of torque. The 7-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox with Singke clutch used on the roadster is 35% lighter than a contemporary dual-clutch gearbox. The Huayra BC roadster is slightly heavier than the coupe and has a dry weight of 1,217 kg (2,683 lb) but is 30 kg (66 lb) lighter than the Huayra roadster. The monocoque of the roadster is constructed of carbon-titanium HP62 material to keep weight low and make the construction rigid. The BC roadster is claimed to generate 500 kg (1,102 lb) of downforce at 280 km/h (174 mph) due to its large fixed rear wing and aerodynamic elements. Audi RS4

B7 brakes, wheels and tyres
The standard brakes on the RS 4 are of two-piece construction. The cast iron discs are cross-drilled and radially ventilated and float on aluminium alloy disc hubs. The two-piece disc construction reduces unsprung mass and also reduces the transmission of heat generated by the brakes to the wheel bearings.

The front discs are 365 mm (14.4 in) in diameter and 34 mm (1.34 in) thick, and use gloss black Brembo monoblock eight-opposed-piston fixed calipers from the Lamborghini Gallardo but with Red/Silver ‘RS 4’ logos. These and the transmission are supplied with a cooling airflow directed from NACA ducts located in the engine front undertray.

BMW 7 Series G11

The sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series consists of the BMW G11 (sedan version) and BMW G12 (long-wheelbase sedan version) full-size luxury sedans. The G11/G12 generation has been produced from 2015 until the present, and is often collectively referred to as the G11.

The G11 was unveiled on June 10, 2015 at BMW’s headquarters in Munich. An official public reveal took place at the 2015 International Motor Show Germany. This generation of the 7 Series is the first car lineup of BMW to be based on the CLAR platform. The CLAR platform adopts technology first introduced in BMW i models, namely the introduction of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer as structural chassis components. The G12 long wheelbase models include the letter “L” in their model name (except in the United States, where the regular wheelbase models are not sold).

The next version of the Micra, the K12, was unveiled in production form at the 2002 Paris Motor Show, following the lines of the Nissan mm.e concept car presented the year before at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was introduced to the Japanese market in February 2002 and to the European market at the end of 2002., The car was radically redesigned: it featured a new, 70 mm longer wheelbase (developed with Renault) and an even more curvy exterior that was taller and slightly wider. Its most distinctive feature was a pair of prominent headlamps that extended to the wing-tops. The redesign coincided with the Japanese Nissan dealership network Nissan Cherry Store being renamed Nissan Red Stage in 1999. Other additions included a sliding rear seat and the option of keyless ignition on higher specification models. The range of engines included improved 1.2 (CR12DE) and 1.4 (CR14DE) petrol models, and a Renault-sourced 1.5 diesel unit (K9K). The automatic CVT transmission of the previous model was replaced by a conventional automatic transmission.
