The sixth generation of the BMW 7 Series consists of the BMW G11 (sedan version) and BMW G12 (long-wheelbase sedan version) full-size luxury sedans. The G11/G12 generation has been produced from 2015 until the present, and is often collectively referred to as the G11.
The G11 was unveiled on June 10, 2015 at BMW’s headquarters in Munich. An official public reveal took place at the 2015 International Motor Show Germany. This generation of the 7 Series is the first car lineup of BMW to be based on the CLAR platform. The CLAR platform adopts technology first introduced in BMW i models, namely the introduction of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer as structural chassis components. The G12 long wheelbase models include the letter “L” in their model name (except in the United States, where the regular wheelbase models are not sold).

(Nissan GT-R)A GT-R won the 2015 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour driven by Katsumasa Chiyo, Wolfgang Reip and Florian Strauss. The NISMO team returned to the Mount Panorama Circuit for the 2016 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour where after qualifying a disappointing 13th, Chiyo, Strauss and Nissan Australia’s Rick Kelly finished in second place, only 1.3 seconds behind the race winning McLaren 650S GT3 from Tekno Autosports. The NISMO Athlete Global Team led the most number of laps in the race having led for 107 of the 297 laps run.
