The SA Ford Focus launched in November 2018 in Australia with Trend, and ST-Line models available from launch. Ambiente, Active and Titanium models were available in mid-2019. The Focus ST is scheduled for launch in 2020. The Ambiente was discontinued after one month on-sale.
Engines available are the 1.5 EcoBoost three-cylinder with 134 kW (182 PS; 180 hp) and 240 N?m (177 lb?ft), and a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 206 kW (280 PS; 276 hp) and 420 N?m (310 lb?ft). The 1.5 EcoBoost is standard on Trend, ST-Line, and Titanium, and the 2.0 EcoBoost on the ST. A 1.5 naturally aspirated three-cylinder with 90.5 kW and 150Nm was offered the Ambiente, but was dropped with the model.
Transaxles include the 8F24 8-speed automatic standard on 1.5 EcoBoost, 6-speed manual standard on ST, with a 7-speed automatic a no-cost option. A 6-speed automatic was previously offered on Ambiente models.
The Ambiente comes with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, six airbags, LED daytime-running lights, 16-inch alloys, halogen headlights, lane departure warning, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, an electric park brake, leather steering wheel, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and DAB+. A front-wheel drive Stanza was introduced in 1981 ? the first middle-class Datsun to be of that configuration, and the first Japanese car in the category built to the principles which had been established in Europe for this class since a few years back. In Europe, front-wheel drive and a liftback design were becoming the norm in this segment, although more traditional Japanese buyers still preferred the rear-wheel drive Bluebird. It remained on sale in Britain until 1986, after which Nissan sold the first British-built Bluebird as its only product in this market sector. Nissan was previously building a smaller, front wheel drive car, beginning with the 1970 Nissan Cherry, and then reconfigured the Violet to front wheel drive. 3-door hatchback, 4-door saloon, and 5-door liftback models were produced.
